Academic calendar

The University of Chile is an institution with a high degree of decentralization, so semester dates may differ per faculty.

Semester I: Beginning of March - End of July

Semester II: Beginning of August - Mid-December

Orientation generally commences in the beginning of March for Semester I and at the end of July for Semester II.

Exams take place at the end of July for Semester I and in December for Semester II.

Requirements

GPA (Average Grade)

There are no GPA requirements for this programme.

English Language Requirement

  • A B1 certificate in Spanish is required, but B2 level is recommended to be able to follow courses well
  • Any course that provides a certificate is sufficient (e.g. Cervantes)

It is recommended you start your language course early!

Universidad de Chile doesn’t have student residences, but the program offers assistance with a data base of Chilean families for housing, and each accepted student has information about housing in their acceptance package.
