Requirements

English or Italian certificate (B2 level) is required. The list of recognised certifications can be found here (in the "Recognized certification" tab).

Students can check their language level with the university free online language test here.  

Areas of study open to exchange students

Arts & Humanities. Subjects taught at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage include: 

  • History of Art
  • Philosophy
  • International Studies

Students are also invited to take courses from other faculties, with a maximum up to 30%, according to the approval of the Departmental Coordinator.

Italian and English

 Ca' Foscari School for International Education (SIE) will be offering for-credit Italian Language courses and English-taught courses to incoming students in mobility at no cost during the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

Each course provides 6 ECTS and includes a language practice module for a total of 80 hours of lessons. Attendance is mandatory.

All students must take an online Placement Test in order to complete their application. Once we have their results, they will be assigned to the correct class.

Housing assistance

The Housing Office helps students to find a suitable and affordable accommodation in one of the student residences, flats or hotels that hold an agreement with Ca’ Foscari University.

Estimated living costs per month

Students need to consider an average monthly budget of approximately 750 

  • Single room in a shared apartment 300 - 400 € + utilities (a month)
  • Double room in a shared apartment 200 - 250 € + utilities (a month)
  • Food and drink shopping 50 - 80 € (a week)
  • Meals 10 - 30 € A meal in a university dining hall 4 - 8 €
  • Breakfast at a café 1,50 - 3 €
  • Transportation 1,30 € (ticket with Imob)
