Welcome to the interdisciplinary exhibition EUREKA!

From to

What can the past teach us about the future? Waterliniemuseum, Kasteel Amerongen, Regionaal Archief Zuid-Utrecht, and FAAM are embarking on an experiment. Together, they present EUREKA!: an interdisciplinary exhibition where art, archives, science, and architecture come together and complement each other.

Academics and artists

In October 2023, the Month of History revolves around the theme: Eureka! Three young, Utrecht-based researchers - a student of art history, a graduate in architectural history, and a mathematician - delved into the collections of the Waterliniemuseum, Kasteel Amerongen, and the Regionaal Archief Zuid-Utrecht this summer in search of remarkable stories.

Their discoveries inspired nine contemporary local artists to create new works. Research findings served as the stimulus for artistic revelations, and in EUREKA!, the ideas of academics and artists meld.

What can you expect?

From 1 October, the exhibition will be on display at the Waterliniemuseum, Kasteel Amerongen, and the library in Wijk bij Duurstede. EUREKA! is a contemporary trilogy showcasing new creations, supported by the old collection pieces and personal 'aha' moments!

Opening hours vary by location. Visit FAAM's website or the websites of the locations for more information.

Attending the opening of the exhibition?

On Friday, 29 September, the opening of EUREKA! will take place from 15:00 to 17:00 at the Waterliniemuseum in Bunnik. Would you like to attend? Please send an email with the subject 'Eureka!' to welkom@waterliniemuseum.nl.
