Study apps

• Toggl; offers the ability to create a schedule and you can also use this app to track how much time you spent on a particular task. This way you not only create a schedule, but you can immediately see how well you stick to your schedule and how much time a task really takes.
• ToDoist; it shows you exactly what you need to do each day and gives you "karma" points for each completed task. In addition, you can sync the app with the Google calendar.
• Microsoft To-Do; the same principle as ToDoist and it syncs with Outlook.

• Forest, Apple Focus or Social Media Blockers encourage you not to use your phone while studying. The annoying thing about these types of apps is that they also make it difficult to access NetIQ to log into UU environments. Therefore, at the beginning of a study session, make sure you already log into the platforms you plan to use, then you can block your phone afterwards.
• Some students like to turn on videos of others studying (found on YouTube under "study with me") in order to be motivated to get started themselves.
• In addition, you could try the pomodoro method, in which you study for 25 minutes at a time and take a 5-minute break. Many apps and websites of this can be found online (such as Pomofocus). Note here: if you need to do something that requires you to focus for long periods of time, this is not a useful method. Then it works better to study for longer periods in a row (for example, 60 minutes instead of 25).

• You can use Anki and Quizlet to create flashcards. Both have a free version with limited functionality. It only becomes really useful if you use the paid version. Quizlet may look more fancy than Anki, but the principle is the same.
• StudyBlue also lets you create your own flashcards and share them. StudyBlue also allows you to create your own quizzes.

If you want to create an overview of material for yourself and be able to draw connections within it, there are many apps available to create mind maps. Such as Mindmeister, xMind, MindMup and EndrawMind. But of course you can also just grab a blank paper and a pen, just as easy.
