Faal Festival 2023
Many students and young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 struggle with their mental well-being. Research by RIVM (2021), among others, shows that this group is more exhausted, unhappy and anxious than ever.
As an antidote, there is the Faal Festival, organized by Utrecht University, TivoliVredenburg and the Institute for Failure Studies. An event where students and young adults can experience that they are not alone in the struggles of this time. Where doubts, uncertainty and failure can be positively in the spotlight.
Join Utrecht University, TivoliVredenburg and the Institute for Failure Studies in breaking the taboo on failure. Take on the experiment, laugh at your own mistakes and learn to use your imperfections and failures for a more beautiful world.
Take a closer look at the performance society with Thijs Launspach and listen to personal stories about performance pressure from Gregory Sedoc and Irene Schouten, among others. The spoken language at the festival will be Dutch.
With Faalfitness, Fuck-Up talks, the We-can-also-not-draw club and the Bumbling Speeddate café (and much more), we help you put the rat race into perspective, let go of performance pressure and celebrate fallible humanity!
We critically examine the performance society, put the rat race into perspective and celebrate fallible human beings. Because failure is not only inevitable and necessary, but also useful and fun!
