Academic calendar

Semester I: 1st week of October – 1st week of February
Semester II: 1st week of March – last week of June

Clinical rotations can have different starting dates and a duration other than 30 ECTS.

Requirements

When following electives (BA and MA) a German language test at B2 level is needed. For following clinical electives students need to have an English B2 level (not necessary to hand in a language test).

Language of instruction (Courses taught in English)

Electives; almost none. For the clinical rotations clinics will switch to English. Please note: patient owners don’t necessarily speak English and not every department within the companion animal clinic will switch to English. Always check beforehand and contact the International Office of veterinary medicine via mail international.office.vet@uu.nl or plan a meeting.

Accommodation

When following clinical rotations, just outside Vienna, at the ruminant VetFarm, students will be housed in dormitories on site.

Estimated living costs per month

Average living costs are around €1000 per month (Estimate from 2022). The amount is an indication. Costs may differ due to personal circumstances.
