After completing your master

After you have graduated you can do a PhD or try to find a job, for instance by networking and making sure your CV looks smart.

Alumni

After graduation you are a Utrecht University alumnus or alumna. Dutch students will automatically be included in the Utrecht University directory and receive the alummi magazine Illuster, offering background articles about the developments within the university and a broad overview of all the activities Utrecht University organises.

University Alumni fund

You can join the Utrechts Universiteitsfonds (U-fonds, only in Dutch). The Utrecht University Fund organises activities, subsidises student activities, awards scholarships and accolades, provides social support to students in financial need, establishes special professorships, and aids the university in its fundraising and sponsoring efforts. You can support the Utrecht University Fund by becoming a friend. This way you also receive attractive discounts.

Some of the events the Utrechts Universiteitsfonds organises:

  • A special alumni event around the Utrecht University's Anniversary Day (dies), 26 March, including workshops for young alumni
  • Refresher days & lectures in different cities in the Netherlands, during which alumni are informed of recent developments within their discipline and within Utrecht University.

View upcoming events in The Netherlands (in Dutch) and international events for Holland Alumni.

Alumni networks

If you wish to stay in touch with other alumni of Utrecht University, then there are several alumni networks you can take part in both for international students as well as Dutch students (in Dutch). Some Humanities programmes have their own alumni associations (Dutch).

Alumni Coordinators

We regularly organise alumni meetings. Do you want to know more or do you want to help? Please contact the alumni coordinator of the department your study programme belongs to.
