Time slot model

Schedules & time slots

An academic year consists of 2 semesters divided into 4 blocks:

  • Semester 1 consists of block 1 and 2
  • Semester 2 consists of blocks 3 and 4

When attending more than 1 course in a block, make sure to choose courses that fall into different time slots, to prevent your lectures, workgroups or exams from being at the same time. It is not possible to take more than one course in a block in the same time slot. Please refer to OSIRIS to see which time slot a course is assigned to.

Global overview time slots

Broadly speaking, the time slots are classified as follows:

A: Monday morning, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning
B: Tuesday morning, Thursday afternoon
C: Monday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, Thursday morning
D: Wednesday afternoon, Friday
E: Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night

See below for a more detailed specification.

Overview of the different timeslots in which the teaching is given:

A

  • Monday 9.00 - 10.45 / 11.00 - 12.45
  • Tuesday 17.15 - 19.00

E

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 19.15 - 22.00
  • You will find the most recent available courses, registration codes and matching time slots in OSIRIS
  • If a course is indicated by a combination of letters (for instance C/D), then the course is in both slots and you have to make sure that your other courses are in the other slots (so A and/or B). Not all the hours of the time slots are used for teaching.
  • In the OSIRIS registration screen you will see in which time slots the course is available (A, B, C, D of E, or a combination of these).
  • Course registration in identical time slots may lead to overlap in teaching and/or testing. So make sure to register for courses that do not overlap.
