Subsidiary courses

Utrecht University students enrol during an enrolment period. 

Bachelor's courses

For bachelor's courses, you will have to enrol using OSIRIS student. If you want to do a minor, please note that you have to register for both the minor and the individual courses. Please pay close attention to the respective enrolment period for each course.

Master's courses

If you want to enroll in Master's courses while you are a student at Utrecht University, and is your study programme not affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities, then you need permission from the course coordinator to enrol. Please send an email to the Humanities Student Desk, naming your studentnumber and the course code of the course you want to follow. Please make sure to send us the permission from the course coordinator as well.

Courses with priority rules

Many courses have a limited number of available places. For these courses, priority rules apply. Certain groups of students are guaranteed a place, provided they register on time. Other students will be placed by means of random selection. Two weeks before course registration starts, we will publish a list of priority-rules courses on this page. Please note that you can only register for priority-rules courses in the first week of a course registration period.

You can register for our courses during our regular course registration period using an online registration form. The form opens from one week before the registration period until the end of the registration period.

Bachelor's courses

• First, you will need to fill in our online registration form in order to enrol in a Humanities course. If you want to do a minor, please note that you have to register for both the minor and the individual courses. 
• After we have processed your registration form, we will send you an e-mail containing your student number and other useful information.
• Next, request a Proof of Payment of Tuition Fees your own educational institution. Your educational institution will send this proof to Utrecht University, after which we will finalise your enrolment.

Master's courses

• First, you will need to fill in our online registration form in order to enrol in a Humanities course. Make sure you have permission from the course coordinator to enrol.
• After we have processed your registration form, we will send you an e-mail containing your student number and other useful information.
• Next, request a Proof of Payment of Tuition Fees your own educational institution. Your educational institution will send this proof to Utrecht University, after which we will finalise your enrolment.
