Joint Programme with LUISS (Rome)

In collaboration with the Italian university Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli (LUISS), Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) offers an unique exchange programme in International Business Economics for a selected group of 20 students. Are you a first year student interested in Business Economics, and would you like to spend your second year studying in Rome? This is an excellent opportunity to work on an international curriculum vitae.

All students participating in this programme have the possibility to apply for an Erasmus grant. Students with a Dutch nationality also have the right to receive approx. €90,- per month OV (public transport) reimbursement. Students starting the LUISS programme September 2020 will take the following (second year) courses at LUISS:

All students who are enrolled in the first year of the Bachelor’s programme Economics and Business Economics can apply. To apply, please send this compiled application document to the Student Information Desk ( including:

  1. the application form
  2. your motivation letter
  3. your curriculum vitae

The deadline for application is in March 2022. More information will be published. 

A committee will revise all applications and select the (maximum) 20 best candidates to participate in the programme. Selected candidates will be notified and be invited to have a first meeting with the coordinator of the programme.

Timeline after the application:

- Selected students are notified
- first meeting with the International Business Economics (IBE) programme coordinator

- Application for Erasmus grant (see FAQ’s) and other formal procedures for enrolment 

- Second meeting with IBE programme coordinator & with LUISS students currently visiting U.S.E.

Beginning of September:
- Moving to Rome!
