Areas of study open to exchange students | All disciplines within Arts and Sciences for which the student has adequate preparation. The students’ primary focus must be on a discipline within Arts & Sciences. Student participating in the Arts and Sciences Exchange must take the majority of their courses in Arts & Sciences, but may take some coursework in another WU undergraduate division (eg. Business, Engineering, Art, Architecture). No students from other faculties are allowed. |
Courses at Master’s level | New per 2022-2023: Due to the complicated nature of the admissions process as well as the challenges for graduate students once they arrive on campus, it is not possible anymore for graduate students to apply for Washington University St. Louis |
Language of instruction | English, unless it is a foreign language course. |
Housing assistance | After admission, exchange students are provided with housing information. Students may choose from on-campus or off-campus housing managed by Washington University’s Office of Residential Life or seek independent off-campus housing. |
Estimated living costs per month | Students will be required to document at minimum $12,785 USD per semester to cover living, insurance, and wellness expenses. Actual expenditures may be lower. Note that per fall 2024, Washington University requires a $500 enrollment deposit/orientation programming fee of all new students, including exchange. |
