Academic calendar

Semester I: 3rd week of October - last week of February
Semester II:  last week of March - 1st week of August

Orientation generally commences the 2nd week of October for Semester I and the 3rd week of March for Semester II.

Exams take place in February for Semester I and mid July until early August for Semester II.

There is no GPA requirement for this destination.

Language Requirement

Students need a Language Proficiency Form signed by a teacher or professor to show their English proficiency.

All except for Medicine and Dentistry.

Housing assistance

On-campus:

USM provides on-campus accommodation to about 70% of its students in six students' hostel called DESASISWA. Costs are 25 RM/5 EUR a day. 

Off-campus:

Information on private residences for rent is available through the Students Affairs Department and the local newspapers. Nearly all accommodation are made-up of three bedrooms and the master bedroom is usually with attached bathroom.  Rental for off-campus accommodation ranges from EUR 250 to EUR 450 per month. 

Estimated living costs per month

Average living costs for a student living on campus are around 1700 RM per month. This is around 400 EUR. (Estimate from 2022)
