Semester I: last week of September - 1st week of February
Semester II: 1st week of February - 2nd week of June

Orientation generally commences the 3rd week of September for Semester I and the 1st week of February for Semester II.

Exams take place late January for Semester I and in May for Semester II.

Language requirements 
Bachelor students: B2 - No official test is necessary for UU students.

Grade requirements
No grade requirement, students with a grade lower than 6.5 should mention this during the application at UU
in this case 3rd year courses could not be available. However there are still many courses to choose from.

Full year students always have to fulfill the requirements of the UK government.

General: You may choose modules across as many departments as you wish, subject to pre-requisites and timetabling.

Law and Criminology: students selected for the School of Law can only choose Law modules.

If you want to take Criminology courses, you need to have Criminology Knowledge on certain subjects. 

Politics and Sociology: no courses at level three or above, students can only apply for level one and two modules. 

Closed for exchange students:

• Medical Physics (Codes beginning with: MPY)

• Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health (apart from a few exceptions)

• School of Education (Codes beginning with: EDU)

• Postgraduate departments such as the Information School (Codes beginning with: INF) and modules starting XXX6 

Internship:

Students can apply online for University owned accommodation once they have received their applicant number. University housing is only be guaranteed for students studying in Sheffield for the full academic year. 
 
Student can also apply for private sector housing if they prefer. Help is available for students who need to find accommodation in the private sector.

Please note: official transcripts can not be issued directly after your exchange in semester 1. You will have to wait for an official transcript until July/August.

LAW: 4 places per year.
