Academic Calendar

Please note that UCL semester 1 (autumn term) is shorter than 3 months / 90 days. Although UCL autumn term is less than 90 days, it is accepted as a full academic term for the purpose of the Erasmus grant.
Semester 2 lasts 5 months.

Requirements

Carefully read the language requirement information from the host university and be aware that an official language certificate such are IELTS or TOEFL might be necessary. Keep in mind the additional cost and time needed to obtain such certificate.

  • Students who going for a full year and/or non-EU citizens: keep in mind that different rules apply depending on the duration of your stay & nationality.

Linguistics at the Faculty of Linguistics:

Students that want to study here need a background in Linguistics. Subjects taught are:

  • Linguistics
  • Psychology (only in combination with linguistics and if approved by UCL)

Estimated living costs per month

Estimates for this will vary, as each student will have different personal tastes and circumstances, but a total of £229 per week for those in UCL Halls or £227 (private accommodation) is considered a reasonable average.
