Academic calendar

Semester I: 1st week of October – 2nd week of February
Semester II: 4th week of February – last week of June

Orientation generally commences the last week of September for Semester I and the 3rd week of February for Semester II.

Exams take place early February for Semester I and late June for Semester II.

Requirements

Language requirements for the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science. All bachelor courses are conducted in Polish so for studies at the BA level Polish B1 is necessary
Master courses in English are available, required level is B2 or Polish (level B1 required).

Language of instruction

Courses are taught in English and Polish.

Housing assistance

Incoming students can stay at one of four JU well located student dorms (monthly cost for one person in a double room is ca. 140 EUR). Please bear in mind that the selection of the dorm is made by the JU International Students Office. Information about housing

Estimated living costs per month

Between 304 – 772 EUR per month depending on type of housing and lifestyle.

Normal study load per term in credits: 30 ECTS
in courses: 3 – 10 (regular courses are worth 6 ECTS)

Grading system: 2 (fail) - 5 (excellent)
Minimum pass: 3

Selection

Selection was not necessary in the past year.
