Skills Academy
De Skills Academy biedt UU-studenten de kans om naast hun opleiding vaardigheden uit andere disciplines te ontwikkelen. De meeste modules zijn open voor alle UU-studenten en bestaan uit kleine modules van 2,5 EC. Je kunt je aanmelden vanaf het tweede jaar van je bachelor, ook masterstudenten kunnen deelnemen.
Inschrijven
Je kunt je inschrijven via deze link. De inschrijvingen openen op Maandag 8 december om 9.00 uur. De inschrijvingen vinden plaats op basis van volgorde van aanmelding. Daarnaast vinden we een disciplinair samengestelde groep belangrijk. De capaciteit van de modules is beperkt, dus meld je snel aan.

1. Kan ik alleen EC's krijgen voor Skills Academy modules als ik deelneem aan een honors cursus?
Alle studenten die deelnemen aan een Skills Academy module en deze succesvol afronden ontvangen EC's, ongeacht of ze zijn ingeschreven voor een honourstraject. In sommige gevallen kunnen EC's verdiend met Skills Academy modules meetellen voor het honours vak of programma van je studie of faculteit.
2. Is het mogelijk om naast mijn scriptie deel te nemen aan een Skills Academy module?
Een Skills Academy module is goed voor 2,5 ECs, wat neerkomt op ongeveer 70 uur (ongeveer zes dagen) studeren in totaal. Dit is inclusief aanwezigheid bij de colleges, voorbereiding en het maken van opdrachten. Gebaseerd op de ervaringen van eerdere studenten is het combineren van een Skills Academy module met je scriptie goed te doen.
3. Heeft het zakken voor een Skills Academy module invloed op mijn masterdossier?
Als je een module niet haalt, wordt er een NVD (Not Completed) geregistreerd in Osiris. Over het algemeen heeft dit geen invloed op je studieresultaten, hoewel dit voor specifieke programma's kan verschillen. Raadpleeg de Onderwijs- en Examenregeling (OER) van je opleiding voor meer informatie.
4. Zijn er kosten verbonden aan het volgen van een Skills Academy module?
Er zijn geen extra kosten verbonden aan deelname aan een Skills Academy module, behalve eventuele materiaalkosten die nodig zijn voor de module. Deze worden altijd vooraf gecommuniceerd.
5. Krijg ik studiepunten voor het volgen van een Skills Academy module?
Ja, je ontvangt EC's na het succesvol afronden van een Skills Academy module. Om een module succesvol af te ronden, moet je de sessies bijwonen en de vereiste opdrachten voltooien.
6. Kun je een sessie van een Skills Academy module missen?
De cursussen in de Skills Academy modules zijn gebaseerd op ervaringsgericht leren, waardoor aanwezigheid cruciaal is. In de regel mag je niet meer dan één sessie missen. Als je er meer dan één mist, moet je een extra opdracht voltooien om te slagen voor de module.
7. Kun je een Skills Academy module gebruiken in de vrije keuzeruimte?
In principe kun je EC's uit Skills Academy modules gebruiken in de vrije keuzevakken van je bachelor- of masteropleiding. Overleg echter altijd met de coördinator van je opleiding of deze EC's worden geaccepteerd.
8. Is het mogelijk om meer dan één Skills Academy module te volgen?
Ja, je kunt meer dan één Skills Academy module volgen. Als je je echter aanmeldt voor twee modules in dezelfde periode (bijvoorbeeld periode 3 of 4), krijg je een lagere prioriteit voor je tweede keuze. We kunnen dus niet garanderen dat je drie modules kunt afronden en 7,5 ECs kunt verdienen in één periode.
9. Worden de Skills Academy modules in het Nederlands of Engels aangeboden?
De meeste Skills Academy modules worden in het Engels aangeboden, maar sommige zijn alleen beschikbaar in het Nederlands. Je kunt de taal van elke module controleren op de Skills Academy website of in de Osiris-beschrijving.
10. Kan ik me inschrijven voor alle Skills Academy-modules, ongeacht mijn opleiding?
In principe staan alle Skills Academy modules open voor alle studenten, maar er zijn uitzonderingen. Sommige modules zijn niet toegankelijk voor studenten van bepaalde faculteiten. Kijk op de Skills Academy website of in de Osiris-beschrijving voor meer informatie.
11. Is het mogelijk om Skills Academy-modules online te volgen?
Nee, alle Skills Academy modulesessies worden op locatie gehouden en kunnen niet online worden gevolgd.
12. Waar kan ik me aanmelden voor Skills Academy modules?
Je kunt je aanmelden voor Skills Academy-modules via de link op de Skills Academy website.
13. Staan de Skills Academy modules op mijn diploma?
Ja, afgeronde Skills Academy modules worden vermeld op je cijferlijst.
14. Wat zijn Edubadges en kan ik er een aanvragen na het afronden van een Skills Academy module?
Een Edubadge is een digitaal certificaat dat je kunt verdienen na het succesvol afronden van een Skills Academy module. Het kan worden toegevoegd aan je LinkedIn profiel. Je ontvangt een e-mail van de Skills Academy met instructies over hoe je je Edubadge kunt claimen.

The Conflict Management and Negotiation module will give you an insight into conflict management and negotiation styles. You will be trained to recognize your own preferences in these situations and develop skills to manage negotiations effectively. This knowledge will be applied through a simulation involving multi-party negotiation.
