Academic Calendar

Basically their academic year starts in April. Hence, the periods are not similar to the semester at UU! Check also carefully the final exam periods in order to make sure that you can obtain credits. 

Spring semester: April - Beginning of August
Fall semester: October - half February

NB: make sure that you will not enter Japan before the entry date determined by Tsukuba University! (book your ticket only after receipt of that specific date)


Language of instruction: English/Japanese

Language requirements: English VWO level

Estimated living costs per month

An 'exchange fee' is required (about 113,- Euro).

About 800 to 900 Euro p/m.

It is quite acceptable and easy to offer language lessons in English. A ‘permit to engage in activities other than that permitted by the status of residence previously granted’ is required though.

Requirement for this scholarship:
- students must start the study-in-Japan program at the Japanese school within the period designated by the Japanese school(from April 1 to March 31)
- A minimum stay of 6 months is required
