Course information

Below, you will find detailed information about the courses offered. 

Course Registration

The course selection guide can help you finding the right courses.

After selecting the courses you wish to follow, you must register for them by following the steps bellow: 
Step 1: Exchange students will receive course registration details by email in May (for semester 1) or October (for semester 2).
Step 2: Register for your chosen courses by completing the form sent by the Student Information Desk. Submit it by the deadline.
Step 3: Choose two preferred courses (7.5 credits each) per period, and one alternative in case you cannot be placed in both your preferred courses. You may additionally choose one extra course per period.
Step 4: Consult your home university to ensure your home university accepts the selected courses before registration.
(Step 5: Resubmit the form if you made a mistake before the deadline)

NOTE: If your preferred course is unavailable, we will try to register you for your alternative choice.

Early Exit

The Utrecht School of Law offers two condensed courses for exchange students who are nominated for an early exit. You are required to enrol into: 
Two courses of your choice in period 1, and  
Two specific condensed courses in period 2, which finish before the holidays:  

  • RGBUSBR013 Law and Ethics (7.5 EC)  

  • RGBUIER025 Foundations of European Law (5 EC)  
    * please note that this course is only 5 EC. If your home university requires you to take at least 30 EC this semester, you can register for three 7,5 EC courses in period 1 and only register for RGBUSBR013 Law and Ethics in period 2.
