Semester II: 1st week of February - 2nd week of June

Orientation generally commences the 3rd week of September for Semester I and the 1st week of February for Semester II.

Exams take place late January for Semester I and in May for Semester II.

Requirements

GPA (Average Grade)

The Average Grade requirement at this university is 60% (Upper Second Class). This is comparable to an average grade 7.5 or above at Utrecht University. 

If you do not have the necessary grades, you won't be automatically rejected. Departments can use their discretion but there must be good reasons for your lower grades.

Language Requirement

Students on exchange for 6 months or less do not have to hand in an official test.

It is not possible to study modules in the following departments. 

  • Department of Medical Physics (Codes beginning with: MPY)
  • Majority of departments within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health
  • School of Education (Codes beginning with: EDU)
  • Postgraduate departments such as the Information School (Codes beginning with: INF)

Modules starting XXX6 are postgraduate modules and these are not usually open to exchange students

Students can apply online for University owned accommodation once they have received their applicant number. University housing is only be guaranteed for students studying in Sheffield for the full academic year.
