Students who are of a nationality outside of Europe will be required to provide a proof of an official English Language certificate. Incoming students are expected to be of good academic standing. Accommodation | We are unable to guarantee a place in university accommodation (but in past years all students that applied have been placed). Halls are grouped as either Oadby Student Village (OSV) or City Living. The OSV is approximately a 40 minute walk from the main campus, and there is a regular bus to and from campus. Shops and a supermarket are nearby, and students can enjoy the University’s botanical garden. City Living halls are approximately a 10 minute walk from the main campus. Costs | Leicester is consistently rated one of the most affordable places in the UK. How much each student spends will depend on their choices. Surveys by HSBC (14/15) have found that the University of Leicester is the most affordable place for undergraduate students in the UK. How much a student spends will depend on their choices, however we estimate that students should budget approx. Eur. 880,- per month for a student lifestyle to cover accommodation, lighting, heating, food and personal expenses (*2017)
