Areas of study open to exchange students

Students can take courses at the 'Faculty of Arts and Humanities'. Courses can be taken in Literature, Film, History of Art, History, Politics, Philosophy, and in some cases Archeology, Communication, English Studies, French Studies, Gender Studies, International Relations, Journalism, Linguistics, and Media. Please note, some of the areas ticked above will relate purely to the fact that some modules may be available in these subject areas (e.g. Archaeology, Linguistics, etc.) and so will not be suitable for students wishing to do a full semester programme in the subject area.

Students will be expected to follow 2 of their 3 modules (or 4 out of their 6 modules if staying for a year) from the same School (e.g. School of History, School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, etc.). Please note: School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing is very popular and courses available might fill up quickly. All Creative Writing modules have limited spaces. All students interested to go to one of the non-introductory modules (Level 5 or Level 6) would need to have on their transcript that they have previously done a Creative Writing module at Utrecht.

If you meet the requirements of the course and if there are places left, you may follow one module outside the faculty. Restrictions are that any necessary prerequisites have been met. Modules chosen from Drama, Education and Psychology will be referred to the relevant School for decision.

Level 4 is year 1 at the bachelor, level 5 year 2, etc. M. is a master course.
