University of Bergen is a Science partner in Bergen, Norway. This agreement is based on the field of Natural Sciences: Mathematics, Physics, Computing Sciences and Chemistry.
Field of study | Bachelor and master in Natural Sciences: Chemistry, Computing Sciences, Mathematics & Physics. Please note: Geology and Biology courses are not open for exchange students. It is possible to apply for restricted courses at other departments/faculties, but make sure that you meet the previous knowledge required. You will find the details in the course descriptions online. Please note that many restricted courses, specially at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences have limited capacity and therefore, qualified students nominated on an exchange agreement in a relevant subject area will be prioritized.

Academic calendar | Semester I: 2nd week of August – 3rd week of December Orientation generally commences in the 2nd week of August for Semester I and in the 1st week of January for Semester II. Exams take place in November/December for Semester I and in May/June for Semester II. |

Courses at Master's level | Yes. Bachelor students can apply for master courses, however, please note: admission to courses at masters level cannot be granted unless the student have previous knowledge and the required academic background. We advise you to check the course required knowledge before applying. |
Language of instruction | English and Norwegian. UiB offers a large number of courses taught in English for exchange students. You can apply for courses taught in Norwegian if you are proficient in one of the Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish or Danish) A Norwegian language course is available for all exchange students |
