Hebrew University of Jerusalem is an exchange destination for bachelor and for master students from the Faculty of LAW, ECONOMICS AND GOVERNANCE at Utrecht University.
The Rothberg International School (RIS), located on Mount Scopus campus, is an academic and administrative entity within the Hebrew University. RIS serves as a hub for numerous international programs, degrees and courses. RIS provides administrative and academic support for incoming undergraduate and graduate exchange students, including pre-arrival assistance and arrival services.

Areas of study open to exchange students | Agreement with the School of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences. However, exchange students can choose courses from all faculties, including Hebrew and Arabic courses during the semester. Participation in some courses though requires approval from the department in which the student wishes to study. Certain courses have prerequisites. (Note IEO: HUJI will inform you about it after application for HUJI) First degree courses are BA level. |
Application & language requirements | Application: Minimum grades average: The minimum GPA requirement has been waived for UU students. English proficiency requirements: A recommendation letter from an academic is required for the application at Hebrew University (hence not for the first application at UU!). The language proficiency letter can be issued by the International Exchange Office - B2 level. Or provide: 1) TOEFL - 80 Students who have completed degrees at universities in which the sole language of instruction is English are exempt from this requirement. Hebrew: Students who wish to take courses in Hebrew should consult the webpage on Hebrew levels.

Visa | Information on visa requirements All international students planning to study at the Rothberg International School must obtain a multiple-entry A/2 student visa through an Israeli embassy or consulate prior to arrival in Israel. It is your responsibility to contact your nearest Israeli embassy or consulate and apply for the relevant visa in advance to your departure. Only an Israeli embassy or consulate can issue this visa. |
Health insurance & estimated living costs | Information on health insurance !!!Starting this academic year (23-24) the Hebrew University will require all international students at the Hebrew University, including part-time and external students to purchase the health insurance coverage offered by HUJI (via Harel Insurance) for the full period of their studies. No exemption will be made, this decision was made taken after careful consideration and with the intension to support the students in ensuring their overall well-being, including your physical and mental health.!!! |
