Requirements

Language requirement: a minimum language level of B2 (CEFR) in Dutch and/or Czech is required.

Arts & Humanities. You have to choose a minimum of 51% of your courses at the Faculty of Arts (not Faculty of Humanities). Courses taught here include:

Housing assistance

The Charles University arranges accommodation at Halls of Residence (= dormitories) for its incoming students.
Charles University is responsible only for the accommodation in dorms. However, there are also many possibilities to find private accommodation. The prices mainly depend on the location.

 

Estimated living costs per month

The cost of living in the Czech Republic is on average comparable to that of other Central and East European countries. A single student is advised to have available approximately Kč 8 500 – 9 000 (app. 312 – 340 EUR) per month to cover food, basic transport and accommodation.

Be aware that the level of rent varies depending on which city you live in, whether you use the University dormitory or private place and if you share the flat or not. The final cost of living, of course, depends on your personal spending habits.
