Year 3

Year 3 is all about your final project. You will take the following courses:

Did you start before 2022? Then check the Literary Studies Education and Examination Regulations to see which courses you will have to take.

Period 1: Republic of Letters (EV)

The Republic of Letters course prepares you to write the final paper. The term 'Republic of Letters' originated in the Renaissance and today refers to an international community of authors, publishers and critics, scholars and policy makers, who are involved in the process of writing, disseminating and assigning value to literature.

This course introduces you to the organisation and function of the literary field in modern times. You will learn how to set up a research project in the field of literary institutions.

Period 2, 3 or 4: Final thesis

You conclude your major with the BA Final Thesis. You are free to choose the subject, as long as it is part of Literary Studies research area. 

Elective courses

You choose the remaining 45 EC in elective courses. As electives you can start with a minor, do an internship, go abroad or choose from a broad range of available courses. Make sure to check each course's entry requirements.
