Orientation generally commences the last week of February for Semester I and the 3rd week of February for Semester II.

Exams take place in June for Semester I and in November for Semester II.

GPA (Average Grade)

The GPA requirement at this university is 3.0. This is comparable to an average grade 7.0 or above at Utrecht University. 
You must meet the GPA requirement at the moment of application at Utrecht University (1st of December)

Language Requirement

If you are selected to go to Monash keep in mind that you will have to meet the English Language Requirements. You don’t have to worry about this until after you have been selected by UU. The requirements are:

  • A grade of 6 or higher in final year English VWO or
  • A test result accepted by Monash. Look at the website for the details.

Housing assistance

There are many comfortable and affordable accommodation options within walking distance to Monash University Malaysia. You may choose to live in on-campus or off-campus accommodation. Some options are the Sunway-managed residences and other student-friendly accommodation options. Find out more about your options on the website.


Information for off-campus accommodation options is available for you to research in advance before you arrive. It is advisable to narrow down your search to the Bandar Sunway area which is located in the State of Selangor for ease of commuting to campus.

Estimated living costs per month

Average living costs are around 1500 RM per month. This is around 350 EUR. (Estimate from 2022).

Credits

A normal full-time load at Monash is 24 credit points (four units/subjects), but 18 credit points (three units/subjects) is permitted. You cannot enroll in more than 24 credit points or less than 18 credit points per semester.
