Semester I (Winter Semester): October - January
Semester II (Summer Semester): March - June

Plan to arrive one or two weeks in advance, because the enrolment process will take some time. Introductory courses and events (e.g. preparatory German classes, Orientation Week) will also be offered at the beginning of the semester.

Requirements

Language requirement: a minimum language level of B2 (CEFR) in German/English is required.

The University offers German language courses through the Department of German and the University Language Center which are taught according to varying levels of proficiency and run the length of each semester. The courses cost between €45 and €120.

Areas of study open to exchange students

Students can take courses at the Department of Music and Arts. Students can also take courses within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. Students can choose from other subject fields as far as places are available. No guarantee for participation can be given.

The University does not own any dormitories for students. Students are responsible for finding their own housing while in Salzburg.
