Language requirement: a minimum language level of B1 (CEFR) in Spanish is recommended.

The International Office (HUM) recommends a B2 level at the moment of exchange in order to fully participate in the courses.

Areas of study open to exchange students

Students can take courses at the Faculty of Language studies, Translation and Communication

Note that students have to take a minimum of 50% of their courses in the Faculty of Language studies, Translation and Communication, more specific at Hispanic Studies. – for the other 50% they can choose courses of any other degree in the University of Valencia.

Courses at Master’s level


Language of instruction

Spanish (75%), Catalan-Valencian (20%), English (5%).

Students are encouraged to take the Spanish intensive course in September. 

Housing assistance

Students are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. Nevertheless, although the University of Valencia has no housing office, it does offer a few options of its own.

Roughly 700 €, including rent. On average, a meal at the campus can cost you around 6 euros.
