Course requirement: Students can choose subjects from all languages and degrees taught at the Faculty of Filología. A max. of 3 courses at other faculties is allowed, as long as there is at least 50% of courses at Filología.

Language requirement: a B1 language level (CEFR) in Spanish is required. The International Office (HUM) recommends a B2 level at the moment of exchange in order to fully participate in the courses.



Areas of study open to exchange students

Students are allowed to take courses at the 'Faculty of Philology', which means you can apply for courses in English Studies, French, German, Italian, Literature, Linguistics, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Romanian, Persina, Arabic, and Aramaic.

Next to courses at the Faculty of Philology, students can take a maximum of 5 outside courses at other faculties within the university, as long as more courses are taken within the Faculty than outside the Faculty.

Language of instruction


The University of Salamanca offers, at the beginning of each semester (September, October and November for the 1st semester, and February/March for the 2nd semester), a Spanish intensive course to all Erasmus students who wish to take it. Students must pay fees for course materials and linguistic consulting. More information can be found here and here.

Housing assistance

The Office of International Relations and Cooperation of the University of Salamanca will help you as much as possible. However, students are responsible for finding accommodation.

Estimated living costs per month

Student expenses will vary according to the type of accommodation. However, €800 a month is the approximate amount needed to cover basic costs of rent, transport, food, etc.
