Requirements

The Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz expect intermediate language proficiency in German equivalent to B1 since only a few departments offer courses in English. 

The International Office (UU Humanities) recommends a B2 level at the moment of exchange in order to fully participate in the courses.

Beside the first expenses on your arrival, you will need a certain sum every month (about € 750) for your everyday expenses during your stay in Mainz:
