Visa and work permit

Work permit

Students with a non-EER nationality will need a work permit ("Te Werkstellingsverklaring") to be able to follow clinical rotationsThe International Office of Veterinary Medicine will guide you through this process. Collecting the right documentation will take around a month, submitting the request and receiving the work permit will take around 6 weeks. So please be aware of a process close to three months. Please note that the work permit is not automatically combined with a visa. For any questions please contact the International Office.

How to apply for a Visa

As a student you will have to submit your application and documents to Utrecht University and we will send your application to the IND after checking if everything is in order and adding our own documents. For each Entry visa/residence permit requested the student needs to pay a fee. The payment of the fees is an essential part of visa and residence permit applications, and has to be concluded before the deadline. Without the payment, we cannot submit your application to the IND. Please note the visa/residence permit fee is non refundable, once the application has been submitted to the IND. More information can be found here.
