Young Innovators

In the first three weekends, you will learn to approach real-world issues from personal, community, and systemic perspectives. In the first weekend, phase one, you begin with the ‘I’ and focus on your personal values, societal position, and social patterns. In the second weekend, phase two, you explore community building and transformation as part of the ‘We’.

In the third weekend, phase three, you bring everything together in the form of a community intervention (the ‘World’). In all these phases, practical change is combined with reflexivity. The final weekend is centred around the student-organised festival, a festive conclusion to the programme.

• Learn how to determine your position in the world, what drives you to take action, and what action you can take in your local communities
• Discover how to connect your academic knowledge, emotions, and inner experiences with your practical skills to address problems that matter to you
• A safe community genuinely interested in caring for others and the world
• Develop your personal leadership skills and learn how to stimulate change in innovative ways
• An open programme with a loose structure, where you can follow your own path 

• You can participate in Young Innovators in the first or second year of your Master’s  programme.
• During the sessions and preparations, we expect a pro-active, curious and committed attitude.
• Since this programme runs alongside your Master's and takes place in the evenings, it's important to consider the following:
• Am I motivated?
• What can I contribute to the group?
• Can I manage it with my current study load?
• Can I balance the programme into my work/sports/social life?

Please collect the following documents before registering:

1. Motivation and assignment: Use this document to argue why you want to participate in the Young Innovators Programme, and complete the (small) assignment.
2. Study progress overview: We ask your Bachelor’s and Master’s course overview if applicable. We will not be looking at grades, but rather at what subjects you have completed. This will give us a good impression of your academic background, which is important to make our honours programmes as diverse as possible.
3. CV (max. 2 A4): Include a short description of your academic performance so far, extra-curricular activities and other valuable skills or life experiences. Please also specify your level of English.

After the deadline has passed, you will be invited for a group interview. Shortly after the group interview, you will be informed by email whether or not you have been selected.
