*In consultation with your tutor you may also take two 5 EC courses instead of a 2,5 and 7,5 EC course, which will result in a slightly heavier course load in period 1. It is then possible to choose a beroepsvoorbereidend pedagogisch-didactische keuzecursus in period 1. If you have a job, you may choose all of these courses. If you don’t have a job you can choose between Burgerschap en educatie (GSTPKC03) or Kleinschalig onderzoek in de school (GSTPKC16) and you will need access to a school.

Please note that for students who are about to obtain their first-degree teaching qualification in biology, participation in the fieldwork week (end of May or beginning of June) during Vakdidactiek 1 or 2 is mandatory.

You have 15 EC of elective space. You need to choose at least 5 EC with a maximum of 10 EC out of the following courses, also called beroepsvoorbereidend pedagogisch-didactische keuzecursus, preferably in combination with Professional in Praktijk 2, Pedagogiek 2 and Vakdidactiek 2.

You have 15 EC of elective space. You need to choose at least 5 EC of the Vocational Preparatory pedagogical- didactical elective list and you need to choose at least 5 EC with a maximum of 10 EC from the list below. You may also select electives from a wide range of Master's courses, as long as you take into account the following conditions:
 

• the courses are relevant to the learning aims of the SEC-programme;
• the total package of courses has sufficient depth and coherence (see Education and Examination Regulations, appendix)

You will find a selection of suitable courses below and in the course planner, but you may choose other courses, for example courses MasterMath, Chem4all, Natk4all or Inf4all. This has to be approved by the Board of Examiners in advance. Please consult Academic policies and procedures, Requests to the Board of Examiners before you submit your request.

Please note that registration periods may take place many months in advance of the course, especially at the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences.

* It is not allowed to take both the courses Professional Skills and Identity (FI-MSECPSI) and Communicatie in het educatieve domein (GSTOKC14).
