Support for students
In order to be well prepared for attending education in Brightspace, there are various support options for students.
On the supportsite Brightspace you will find:
- Quick start guide - This will quickly guide you through the most important steps to get started with Brightspace
- Manuals - On various Brightspace topics, which will be increasingly refined and expanded until summer 2025
You can contact the support desks with questions about Brightspace. At this first-line support, staffed by specially trained students, you are directly supported. Contact the Support desk:

- At the Educatorium (part of the ICT Service Desk): Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00
- Drop by one of the walk-in hours at the USP and city centre:
- UBB, reading table - Tuesday afternoons, 13:00 - 17:00
- CAT (Bolognalaan 101, 1.175A) - Tuesday mornings, 9:00 - 13:00
- Koningsberger Building at the ICT Service Desk - Friday mornings, 9:00 - 13:00
- ICU: Voltaire Hall, Room D - Tuesday afternoons, 13:00 - 17:00
- David de Wied (room Goliath) - from 2 April, Wednesday mornings, 9:00 - 13:00
From September 2025, all UU education will take place on Brightspace. The contract with Blackboard will end on 29 December 2025. After that, content on Blackboard will no longer be directly accessible. It is important to timely store all educational material you want to keep, such as documents, presentations and readers, in another location. Your UU OneDrive, for example, is a good place to store this.
