The contract with Blackboard can be extended by UU until the end of 2025 at the latest. Due to laws and regulations, we are obliged to tender contracts from a certain value onwards. In addition, there is a need within UU to take the next step in terms of LMS in terms of functionalities and user-friendliness, among other things.
Some of the students will experience the new LMS for the first time during the partial implementation in academic year 2024-2025. The majority of students will start using the new LMS at the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year.
The contract with Blackboard will end on 29 December 2025. After that, content on Blackboard will no longer be directly accessible. It is important to timely store all educational material you want to keep, such as documents, presentations and readers, in another location.
