Financial provisions

If you experience study delays due to a disability or chronic illness, you may be eligible for various provisions from DUO. Financial compensation is also available from Utrecht University: Financial support in cases of circumstances beyond one’s control (FinSCO, formerly: graduation support).

• Financial support for study delays If your disability causes you to suffer study delays in your performance grant period
• Unable to earn a diploma on time If your disability prevents you from completing your final degree within ten years
• Occupational disability (Wajong) If you become fully unfit for work under the Wajong within the 10-year diploma period
• Forced to discontinue your studies If your disability forces you to discontinue your studies
• Conversion of performance grant If you will never again be able to obtain a degree in higher education due to your disability
