Gender transition
When going through a (social, medical, legal) transition, there can be a lot on your mind. This can also affect your studies. The university offers various (financial) facilities to support students in transition.
What are my options?
Depending on your circumstances, various forms of guidance or support are available, including:
- Adjustment of your study planning;
- Application for education and testing facilities (e.g. extra guidance);
- Contact with a student counsellor or student psychologist;
- Temporary deregistration from your studies.

Contact your student advisor
If you expect to be unable to study for a month or more because of your situation, contact your programme's study advisor as soon as possible. You have an obligation to report to the study advisor if the delay will last longer than three months. The student advisor can help you think about how to limit the study delay and what support might be available within the university, e.g. through adjustments to your study programme. The student advisor can refer you to a student counsellor or a student psychologist if necessary or desired.
