Personal circumstances
I have a question about ...
Studying with a disability
Utrecht University uses the following definition of a disability: a disability is a chronic disorder (diagnosed by a certified professional) that can hinder a student’s ability to participate fully in (higher) education. Do you have questions such as:
- What if I am temporarily unable to study due to mental struggles?
- I have AD(H)D, ASD, dyslexia, dyscalculia or a chronic illness; do I qualify for an examination adjustment or accomodation?
- Is my disability taken into account when determining my binding study advice (BSA)?
- Does the UU organize activities for students who need more support?
- Is there financial support if I am delayed in my studies due to my support need?
- Does the UU have low-sensory rooms?
Physical circumstances
- I can (temporarily) not write and/or type, how do I take my exams now?
- Are all UU buildings accessible with a wheelchair, walker or other (walking) aids?
- What if I am not able to come to the university every day?
- Can I take my exams with reading software?
- My lecture is scheduled in a room that is not accessible to me; what should I do?
Family circumstances
- Who can I talk to?
- I am temporarily or long-term unable to participate in compulsory parts of education.
- Can I get a postponement of a deadline?
- Am I entitled to an extra examination opportunity?
- Will my circumstances be taken into account when assessing my binding study advice (BSA)?
