Skills booster: Formulate a research question
When conducting research, it's helpful to have a clear research question as soon as possible. Not only does research involve answering (scientific) questions, a good research question also helps you make various decisions during the research process. Even when writing a paper or thesis, a clear question helps in structuring your text.
Get started on your own
Not all types of questions will be suitable for your research. When making a choice, you should consider the following:
- What is the current state of knowledge?
- What is a requirement from the program?
- How relevant is the question?
- What interests you?
- What research method is needed to answer the question?
