Thesis kick-off

Are you starting your thesis and have questions? In this workshop, you'll get a clear overview of the first phase: orientation. You’ll gain insight into the thesis process and learn which questions to ask to get started well. You’ll also discover where to find the answers and work with a handout to organise your approach.

• Important: This workshop focuses on the thesis process. For content-specific or faculty-related questions, such as retakes, changing supervisors, or changing topics, it’s best to contact your supervisor or course coordinator.
• Who is this for? This workshop is designed for students in the orientation phase. It’s helpful if you already have some basic information, such as from a thesis manual, a first thesis session, or a conversation with your supervisor.

In this workshop, you’ll learn what is needed to conduct research effectively and efficiently. You’ll start by carefully defining your thesis topic and clearly formulating your research question. These are two crucial elements of the research design. Add a realistic timeline to this, and you’ll be in a very good position to write your thesis purposefully and without delays.
