Academic calendar

Semester I: 1st week of September – end of December
Semester II: 1st week of January – end of April

Orientation commences generally the last week of August for semester I and the 1st week of January for semester II.

Exams take place the 2nd and 3rd week of December for semester I and the 2nd and 3rd week of April for semester II.

Requirements

GPA (Average Grade)

Faculty of Law or Alberta School of Business: 6.8 / 2.8

6.55 / 2.5 for the following UAlberta faculties:

  • Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences (ALES)
  • Arts
  • Education
  • Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation (KSR)
  • Native Studies
  • Science

English Language Requirement

Graduate (master) students need proof of proficiency:

A grade of 7 or higher in final year English VWO or
A degree from a programme where the language of instruction is English.

Please check the most recent language requirements on the website of the host university.

Undergraduate (bachelor) students will receive a letter stating their English proficiency from the International Office.
