Letter of recommendation
Do you want to write to a private fund for an internship abroad? A number of funds require a cover letter from a student dean when applying for financial support. The fund will need a complete picture of your application. Therefore, the student dean will check a number of things at the request of the fund.
How do I submit an application to a fund?
For most funds, you can submit an application digitally. Many funds require the application to be received at least 4 months before departure. Please take this deadline into account. Are you waiting for confirmation of your internship abroad? In that case, you can already submit an application to a fund. Mention in your application that the confirmation will be send later.
How do I request a letter of reccomendation?
- Log in to OSIRIS Student and go to the Affairs tab.
- Click on the yellow plus sign at the bottom and select case type Financial matters, statements and other documents. Here you select: Cover letter student dean.
- In OSIRIS-Zaak you provide a number of documents and data relevant to the student dean.
Draw up a budget
Because funds work with different budget formats, the student deans also request that you include a separate budget in Excel with an explanation. This budget will be sent by the student dean, along with the cover letter.
Processing time
The processing time of your request for a cover letter via Osiris Zaak is approximately 3 weeks. Therefore, submit your request for a cover letter at least 3 weeks before the closing date of the fund via OSIRIS-Zaak. If your request has been processed by the student consellor, you will receive a notification. You can download the accompanying letter yourself in OSIRIS-Zaak. You can then add the letter yourself to your application to the fund. The funds will inform you themselves whether a request for financial support has been granted.
Important Notes
- The student counsellor will prepare one supporting letter, even if you are applying to multiple funds.
- If you are applying to multiple funds, the letter will address all the relevant funds.
