Spending a day at the Utrecht Science Park isn't the most active way to spend your day. Maybe you can count the long, windy route the Utrecht Science Park as sport, but the rest of the day is mostly spent sitting in lectures and the UBU. 

And that is sometimes a shame, because sport can have a very relaxing effect and is a good way to clear your mind. Exercising reduces stress and we all really need that. So that's why we offered various clinics during Wellbeing Week in May for you to try something new: maybe Boxing, Hoop Dance or just a Bootcamp?

For an impression of the previous Wellbeing Week here is the agenda for 6th-10th May 2019:

Boxing is a tactical martial art in which the coordination of feet, eyes and hands, and fitness are central. It is a conditionally tough sport with particular attention to learning basic skills such as the direct shot, the shot and the corner. More and more women are interested in boxing. The training is mixed gender and recreational oriented.

Bootcamp is an outdoor fitness program to get or keep you in good condition quickly. It sounds much stricter than it is. The most important ingredients are: enjoying the outdoors, socializing in a group, improving your fitness and your (muscle) strength, becoming fit and supple (and staying) and FUN!

Bootcamp is for both men and women of all levels; the trainer adjusts the training to your fitness level. The lesson includes: running, interval training and fitness exercises in nature.

Pilates is a training for the whole body; for body and mind. Pilates is, as it were, back to the basics: back to all natural forms of movement, back to the natural muscle chains. The strength is mainly in the simplicity and combinations of the movements. Strength, flexibility and stability are discussed. The focus is mainly on your core stregth, in other words the center of your body: back, belly and waist.

Would you like to climb Kalymnos, the highest climbing wall in the Netherlands? You can! Under the guidance of a qualified instructor you will learn the principles of climbing and securing and you will be able to control this highest climbing wall - in the middle of the Netherlands and in the great outdoors.

With Stand Up Paddling you stand on a SUP board and you move on with a paddle that takes you through the water on both sides. SUPPEN is a complete workout, you train your legs, buttocks, back, arms and shoulders and it is a very intensive workout for your abdominal muscles (core). In short, SUPPEN is good for your health and suitable for anyone who likes to work on his or her condition and body in the open air.
