Who can apply

This accommodation is only available for international students who enrol in a Master’s or Bachelor's degree programme at Utrecht University or a two semester Exchange Programme and are eligible for the Reserved Accommodation Programme

When to apply

Application is currently open and closes on 20 July 16.00 PM (CEST). The studios might be fully booked before 20 July, so do not wait with your application! Once the accommodation is fully booked you will not be notified by Holland2Stay if a studio becomes available again due to a cancellation or no show. For this you would need to check the Holland2Stay website regularly.

  1. Register an account on the website of Holland2Stay. The registration fee is 23,50 euros (non-refundable)
  2. Follow the special Holland2Stay link for eligible students of Utrecht University. It is possible to view the accommodation on offer before booking opens. The reserved accommodation is only available via the special Holland2Stay link not on the general Holland2stay website.
  3. Select a studio apartment in Keramus residence (Select "Available" under Available to book)
  4. As documented proof regarding your enrolment please upload our e-mail to you about your conditional admission. Before you can finalise your reservation Holland2Stay will verify that you are eligible with Utrecht University. Note that this may take some time!
  5. Once your application has been verified you can finalise your reservation by digitally signing the contract and by making the following payments: 175 euro contract fee, the deposit and the first month’s rent

Types of accommodation

At Keramus, Holland2Stay offers brand new single studio apartments that are fully furnished. All studios have fast internet (wifi), a private kitchen and a private bathroom. You can find photos and additional information about the building on the Utrecht page of Holland2Stay. The communal laundry room, roof terraces, secured bicycle storage and lounge area are free to use as a tenant.

Average rent

The rent of the studios on offer are approximately 870 euros including mandatory utilities per month. If you meet the requirements you can benefit from a cost reduction of up to 350 euros per month (see Rent allowance).

Rent allowance

If you are 23 years or older and also meet the other individual requirements, the accommodation in Keramus Residence is eligible for the government regulated scheme called rent allowance. This means that you can benefit from a cost reduction of up to 350 euros off your monthly net rent. Holland2Stay can help you apply for housing allowance. Read more.

Rental period

The reserved accommodation via Holland2Stay is only available for a fixed rental period of twelve months.


Keramus Residence is situated in the unique and popular historic Rotsoord district in Utrecht City Center. The brand new residence stands beside the waterfront, only a short walk away from the famous Oudegracht and Nieuwegracht canals. The residence is situation next to the Vaartsche Rijn train station and has excellent bus connections to Utrecht Science Park De Uithof. Shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants are nearby. Does Holland2Stay offer accommodation to couples or families?

No, the accommodation is not suitable for couples, house sharing, children or families.

Can I rent Holland2Stay accommodation for longer or shorter?  

This is not possible. Reserved Holland2Stay accommodation is only available for a fixed rental period of 12 months. If you are looking for accommodation for a shorter time frame, for example because you are planning to conduct research or do an internship abroad, it is not possible to book this accommodation.

What if I am not able to book via the Reserved Accommodation Programme?

Because the number of reserved accommodation is limited, most students have to search on their own. This can be difficult and time-consuming but the right preparation can increase your chances.
