New Bachelor student - practical info

Finding your way at Utrecht University

Welcome! You're standing at the beginning of your academic adventure at Utrecht University. That’s a big step. So we’re here to lend a hand. Read tips about when your classes are, who to turn to with questions, and information about education and our systems below.

Where do I need to go?

TIP: the walking route to the BBG goes through the KBG. The first number of the room number stands for the floor in the building, so 0.12 (ground level + room 12), 1.13 (first floor + room 13)

When do I have classes?

Who should I contact? - contact persons

Do you have a problem or a complaint?

Are you experiencing a problem regarding a situation within your programme or the UU? If so, discuss this in the first instance with the relevant person the problem concerns. You can also turn to your Study Advisor. Are you unable to solve the problem and want to file a complaint? Then contact the independent Science Complaints Coordinator, Cristel Teusink, who will handle your complaint and can give you advice on your situation. Additionally, Cristel can launch an investigation into the course of events and if necessary, initiate a mediation.

Are you still not satisfied with the outcome or how the outcome came about after your complaint? Then you can contact Roel Notten, UU's Student Ombuds Officer. Just like the Complaints Coordinator, he can give you advice, mediate and investigate.

The Complaints Coordinator and the Ombuds Officer Students both work independently. All conversations are confidential.

Still have some questions? Utrecht University offers a lot of ICT support. You can find more information at https://manuals.uu.nl/en, or by calling (030) 253 4500
