Exchange student at Mathematical Sciences in Utrecht

If you wish to study as an exchange student at the Mathematical Institute in Utrecht for a semester or a year, the following information may be useful.

Study in Utrecht

You can follow courses in our master's programme as an exchange student if your home university has an Erasmus+ agreement with Utrecht University. The application should be made at your home university. For more information on the exchange programme, please visit the website of International Offices of your home university or the website of the Faculty of Science of Utrecht University. As an exchange student in Utrecht, you are exempt from paying a tuition fee, and the International Office can arrange a student visa.

If your home university does not have an Erasmus+ agreement with Utrecht University, you can still take courses at our department, but you will have to pay for a tuition, and you will have to arrange your own visa. More information is available on the website of International Offices

Courses

The courses of the current academic year can be found on the website of the master's programme Mathematical Sciences.

Do a research project in Utrecht

A limited number of positions for research projects are available at the Mathematical Institute for excellent students. If you want to apply, please send an email to Dr. Barbara van den Berg (b.n.vandenberg@uu.nl), with motivation, study results and the area of research that you are interested in. If you are not taking courses, your home university does not necessarily need to have an Erasmus+ agreement, but you need to be selected for this by a research group at the Utrecht Mathematical Institute. Your visa will be arranged through the Science without borders programme. You do not have to pay a tuition fee.
