Incoming students for internships, research projects or thesis
The research groups of the Faculty of Science offer possibilities for international student to work on a research project or thesis. However, the research groups receive many requests for doing a research assignment, so a place is not guaranteed.
Students that are interested in a research project, have to arrange this themselves. Visit the website of the institutes and see what kind of research/thesis is possible by checking the different research institutes.
Please note: it is not possible to apply for a research project at the Department of Information and Computing Science. Also, there are limited options available at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences because of supervisor capacity.
How to get started
Click on the name of the research institute and then click further on the research group. Read about the research the group is doing and if you like what you are reading, please contact the group yourself. If you do so, we suggest you explain clearly why you contact them, what is your motivation for that particular group and give some information about yourself (CV, transcript of records, time you would like to visit Utrecht University and, if necessary, the level of your English etc.). Please confirm that you do not need additional funding.
If you manage to get a confirmation of a research group and supervisor, reach out to the international office of the faculty of science for the paperwork.
