Schedules
At Utrecht University every academic year is divided into 4 periods of 10 weeks. In the first year, most of the CPS courses are full time (15 EC) courses and have an estimated study load of at least 40 hours a week. The credits are standard credits according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Other courses, in particular elective courses, are scheduled parallel in 'timeslots' and have an estimated study load of 20 hours a week (7.5 EC).

Elective courses
From the free elective courses, at least 7.5 EC must be at level 2 (deepened) and at least 22.5 EC must be at level 3 (advanced), leaving 15 EC for level 1 (introductory) courses. Of course you can also complete all 45 EC at level 3 if you want, or any other combination given the above minimum level requirements.
Information about the content of the courses can be found in the Osiris course catalogue. For scheduling of your courses: My Timetable.
Note: participation in mandatory advanced courses (level 3) is only possible after the introductory courses (level 1) have been passed (EER, annex B, art 4.2)
Time slot model
When you register for courses, please take notice of the different time slots in order to avoid overlap in the time slots. By checking the time slots, you can create a feasible schedule. The week is divided into time slots.
Please refer to Osiris to see which time slot a course is assigned to.
The Courseplanner is an online programme that can help you browse through the courses, and plan your study efficiently.
