Schedules and year calendar

At Utrecht University every study year is divided into 4 periods of 10 weeks. Most of the CPS-courses are full time, 15 credits, courses and have an estimated study load of at least 40 hours a week. The credits are standard credits according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Other courses, in particular elective courses, are scheduled parallel in 'timeslots' and have an estimated study load of 20 hours a week (7.5 credits).

Note: participation in mandatory advanced courses (level 3) is only possible after the introductory courses (level 1) have been passed (EER, annex B, art 4.2

Avoid overlap in timeslots of courses

When you register for courses, please take notice of the different timeslots in order to avoid overlap in the timeslots. By checking the timeslots, you can create a feasible schedule. The week is divided into the following timeslots:
