Who to contact
Have you run into a dead end in your academic progress or are you experiencing problems of a more personal nature? You do not have to tackle your issues on your own. Utrecht University has many members of staff who can assist and advise you. The University has a variety of specialized counsellors that you can contact.
In the Introduction to MBI course (first course in the MBI program) you will discuss your interests with your fellow students in the class and the lecturer. Discussion should help you to define an individual program that fits your background and ambitions. A draft version of your individual study plan is submitted to the MBI programme coordinator. He will provide feedback on your study plan and you will present your final study plan in the Introduction to MBI course.
For any programme related issues, contact the programme coordinator MBI-coordination@uu.nl.
The role of the lecturer of a course or project is that of both a supervisor and coach. The student is encouraged to take the initiative, and is challenged to pose problems, propose solutions, and perform theoretical and practical analyses. The students give presentations, write papers, carry out assignments, and participate in workshops. Active acquisition of knowledge and experience, individually as well as in groups, is a key focus within the Master’s in Business Informatics programme.
During the final thesis project, two staff members will supervise you on an individual basis.
Questions not related to your study programme
In some cases you may want to consult someone who is not related to your specific study programme. For example, if you fall behind due to extenuating circumstances or mental health issues, and it is not possible to correct this through an adjustment in your programme. If this is the case, you may use the contacts mentioned below.
We have put together some study tips and useful links and offer a number of workshops which can help you to improve your study skills.
