SSE Riga offers a unique programme where economics education is combined with business lessons and entrepreneurial experiences. Acquiring academic and professional insights in both serves as a solid springboard for further career development.

Housing assistance

SSE Riga does not provide dormitories for exchange students. Most convenient way for exchange students is to rent a flat/room with other exchange or SSE Riga students nearby the School. It may cost from EUR 350 per person per month. The flat can be found either before arrival or you can book a place in the hostel (for example http://www.visitlatvia.lv/en/hostel/prima) for the first week and than look for an accommodation upon arrival.  .

  • Estimated Costs of Housing (per month) Renting a flat with other exchange students or SSE Riga students - from EUR 300 - 350 per person per month.
  • Food (per month) EUR 300 Local Transportation (type and cost/month)
  • Riga has a well-developed public transportation system. A one-way ticket on any kind of public transport costs EUR 1,20
  • Academic (books etc.) Fee for handouts and printouts per semester: EUR 35
  • Personal (entertainment etc) Normally in Riga: cinema ticket EUR 5 - 10, theatre ticket EUR 7 - 20, opera ticket EUR 6 – 130, restaurant meal 20 – 40 EUR/pers.

Requirements

English language profiency: C1 or higher on the CEFR scale. If student proficiency level appears to be lower than expected, SSE Riga reserves the right to administer its own test upon arrival. If the results are unsatisfactory, students will be requested to take intensive English course. You have to submit proof of this language proficiency upon your application at the host university.
